In a media statement, the SBASK criticises August and the municipal education directorates for their silence over the wage bill and simultaneously calls on them to join the requirements of this union for resolving problems in the education sector through dialogue.

“They like silence and do that when the SBASK makes commitments and warns of union action and then comes out and say that the SPASK's demands are legitimate, but that August and the DKA are against strikes. A similar statement is held by the Parents' Council and a part of the civil society, which require SBASK not to go on strikes but to resolve other opportunities for which they will have support”, the statement said.

“The SBASK tried Saturday not to miss a second of learning to voice opposition to the bill on wages that is degrading to education and culture workers and publicly addressed the prime minister and government that the government on Monday held to demands that the SBASK raised in Saturday's protest, but did not say a word or make the least commitment either, or the DKAK and the Commission of Parents”, the statement is further said.

The SBASK warns that it will take other union actions, including the general strike that will paralyse the entire educational and cultural system.
