Artists have suspended strike pending rising wages

From today (Friday) professional workers of the Kosovo National Theatre, those of the Kosovo Philharmonic and the national singing and dance ansablic “Shot” will be back to work. They have suspended the strike on its ninth day Thursday, when the Government of Kosovo has also adopted the regulation through which the Ministry of Culture says [...]
Two days earlier, he had put the whole day in order and even at the end of last week, the regulation for promotion and wages of the creators and cultural heritage performers and workers had turned back with the argument that the Bill on Salaries in the public sector is already in the Kosovo Assembly.
Not even Thursday was in order of days. Culture Minister Kujtim Gashi has proposed it to “the various” after Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has pledged it. While seeking its approval, it has named the Order, “document of the particular importance for the development of culture in the Republic of Kosovo”. It has been adopted without any debate, as well as Prime Minister Haradinaj has asked whether the finance minister has any opinion on it.
Three and a half hours after the approval of Minister Gashi has called “extraordinary conference for media”. Adoption of the Order for the promotion and wages of the creators and performers of culture and cultural heritage at the gathering has enabled the MKRS to raise wages.
But unlike what was said in October last year, that wages would be given with retroactive growth since a February of this year, it has now been decided that 228 wage workers will be given increased from June this year. The strikers have also agreed. Execution of rising wages will take place by November.
The Ministry of Culture has to change all work contracts with vocational employees in order to raise wages
