Ryanair is on strike again. And they do good. Because flights for only a few euros on holiday really look interesting, but actually destroy climate and society, Lars Halter thinks.

What a horror: The terminal full of tumblas, sweaty bodies heat up in plastic banga, long rows in sports, children crying, and in the evening all return home because no aircraft ever left. Again strike, on notice boards always the same word: cancelled.

Training on Staff

The stewardess, the land personnel someone always goes on strike, first of all in free flight societies. This time it's Ryanair's pilots, queen of free societies. Business chief Michael O'Leary calls them disparaging “bus companion” and would like to pay them as such. O'Leary's generally not some kind of cute guy. But is he to blame for all this chaos? I don't believe it. With his venture he has taken a place in the market, which he has established and in which you can still earn some euros. For 15 euros you can go to Venice for 20 euros in Thessaloniki. Flight to Fuerteventura should not cost more than a cocktail on the beach. In Marrakesh, vacationers fly whose bathing underwear has been more expensive than the trip to North Africa.

Obviously, enterprises have to save, with these ticket prices. Not just their employees' salary. Ryanair's pilots fly many distances and take shorter vacations that allow flight control. They finance their own schooling and fly even when they are sick because the entrepreneurship does not pay their days. The stewards must pay for their uniforms and bring their food to work with them.

Stop the madness of cheap prices

Lars HalterLars Halter

The madness with the free flights must be over. Previously, flights were able to pay those who earned more money. That's not how it comes back. After all, everyone has the right to take a vacation, even if it's asked if it's supposed to be the Maledeves. But flying prices are too low to cover expenses should not be available. These prices go to the back of the salaries and set in motion a bad spiral. Low wages increase demand for goods and cheap services. This, in turn, serves enterprises that pay less. In the end, there are only missing people with minimum wages.

In addition, the most expensive tickets would lower the demand to fly on vacation. The one unable to pay the highest prices, it flies less. This is good for holiday spots flooded by free prices vacationers and climate.
