The Kosovo government has not yet paid the consortium US-Turkish “Bechtel Enka” 53m euros as punishment for non-realment of the contract, but also for extensions of work more than a year. The US-Turkish consortium “Bechtel Enka” has failed to receive the 53m euros required by the Government of Kosovo as the form of punishment for delaying payments.
The news has been confirmed by Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj. The set fine of 53m euros is in danger of increasing if the payment is not carried out within the set deadline.
“No, no payment has yet to be made. It's still under consideration. We do not yet know when the payment will be paid, we are waiting for the evaluation. If the fine is not paid within the deadline, it is likely to increase. I have not yet formatted the deal in terms of the commercial cost”, Lekaj has been expressed in a proposal given to the newspaper “Voice”.
With the new decision signed by annexes-contrast extends the deadline for completing highway work until 31 December of this year.
