Haradinaj, says Blakaj had given full support for the case he was leading.
“Today, I have addressed the accredited ambassadors and Kosovo Liaison Office officials, explaining with a letter my unconditional support to all requests submitted by the retired prosecutor, Elez Blakaj, for the entire investigation into the Bureau for Category Issues issued by the KLA over the issue of the Veterans List. Former prosecutor Blakaj has come to my office and has taken two weeks to conduct investigations in the archives. With full will to help the process, I have been available for whatever time he determines. We agreed that after 30 days to provide a report with the course of investigations, specifically has there been an opportunity to investigate without interference, impartially and with full integrity”, Haradinaj wrote into the Facebook account.
Haradinaj says the government of Kosovo is determined to strengthen rule of law throughout Kosovo.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo and central institutions are determined to strengthen and ensure order and law throughout Kosovo. The policies we have drafted and implemented in the rule of law, among other things, include empowering the role of prosecutors and judges, raising the sectoral budget, raising wages and improving working conditions. These policies have restored their dignity and empowered the entire system by raising efficiency, transparency, and accountability”, the prime minister points out.
Haradinaj, on the other hand, stresses that even the case he was investigating Blakaj deserves independent investigation by justice institutions, while he says Blakaj and the latest actions have tried to jeopardise Kosovo's efforts to rule the law.
Because of these efforts, I express my deep confidence and dedication that each case, including the case in which Mr. Blakaj, deserves independent investigation and justice institutions must work free of any influence. Unfortunately, individuals like Mr. Blakaj, manifesting false protagonism with his attacks on Kosovo justice through media, attempted to jeopardise efforts to strengthen the rule of law and rule of law in Kosovo. This case will not prevent our strong determination to a fully functioning justice system in Kosovo”, he wrote. /Periscopi/
