On Monday evening, Giorgos Stabelos had been sitting in his home room in the town of Rafina, watching the news.
Since noon, news has reported that the capital's areas, such as Matti, Rafina and China, have collapsed from fire, said “Al Jazeera”, the Periscope broadcast.
When he saw the images of apocalypse on television, he rushed out of his house and jumped onto the engine. At first, he could not find a clear path because of dense dust and smoke.
Stobelos says that when he crossed the coast, he saw a 91-year-old woman dead, as well as many other people of all ages.
“reminds me of a war zone; the sky was gray and hot”, the witness says. “There was a hell on earth”.
Meanwhile, Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said his country has passed through an indescribable tragedy, declaring even for three days of mourning./Periscopi/
