The Syrian canned girl became a prosthetic limb

Maya Merhi, born without feet because of a rare congenital state, had lived with her father in a refugee camp after forcing them to leave their home in the Aleppo province.

After he fled to the northwestern region of Idlib, Maya was photographed fighting to move on domestic prosthetics made from tubes and tone boxes.

Designed by her father, Mohammed, who suffers from the same cognitive disorder, the improvised legs were created to protect her from hot, dirty, and dusty terrain.

With improvised prosthetics, Maya was able to get out of her tent and could even attend camp school.

But after photographs of her difficulties spread worldwide, the intervention of the Turkish Red Halfage and the father and daughter were evacuated and brought to Istanbul for treatment. Today the media have published new photos of it with its new prosthetic limbs.

She is smiling, in good health and learning to walk”, Dr. Mehmet Zeki Culccu, a prostetic specialist who offered her free treatment of changing her life.
