Kosovo government regrets, pulls customs tax

The news was confirmed to Radio Free Europe Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry of the Government of Kosovo Fadil Arifi.
However, according to him, the measure will continue to apply for 7 products.
“Those measures continue to apply to tomatoes, peppers, apples, pears, plums, raisins and grapes. The verdict was made yesterday. The ministry has asked the Government to change and fulfill the decision. We've removed measures for other products, meanwhile, for products that continue with the measures, they're temporary. These measures, later, were adopted in the government”, Arifi said.
According to him, until the change of decision has come after “different pressures”, while based on the analysis, he added, it has been important that the measures remain for the products he mentioned.
The first measures, according to him, have been imposed on the basis of market analysis.
Even Serbian Government Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication Minister Rasim Lajic confirmed that Pristina has withdrawn customs duty measures by 30 per cent.
“we welcome this decision and expect other measures to be removed as soon as”, Lajic said.
That statement, he did after meeting in Belgrade with the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirko Shareviq, as well as Macedonian Agriculture and Forestry Minister Lupce Nikolovski.
