Kosovo, Albania with co-operation protocol for tourist season

According to an MPB communiqué, the signing of this protocol is aimed at further intensifying relations, implementing legislation in the area of border control and strengthening co-operation between police of the two countries through planning and implementation of joint measures.
“I thanked Minister Xhafaj for hospitality and discussed topics of mutual interest, for the success of the summer season for the fact that security is a prerequisite for people being free and spending their holidays as best as possible. Also in the interest of discussion was the challenge the two states relate to in preventing risks and phenomena with particular emphasis on terrorism and organised crime. For the prevention of these phenomena, we as two states have a co-operation that needs to intensify and react in time and influence these phenomena to decrease. Both countries have so far overcome the dangers there are in this regard, we have been successful. However, this does not make us feel relaxed in the face of possible dangers. I was treated and the phenomenon of possible illegal migration movements where our region is affected, like the phenomenon that attracts itself and social problems and the problem of incriminating terrorist groups that may be infiltrated in this movement and in this direction. We expressed our opportunities and capacities to respond to these phenomena. Minister Gashi said”.
Gashi also argued that co-operation between the two ministries will be intensified, respectively.
I firmly believe that between our two ministries and our two police officers, there will continue to be more intense co-operation in the interest of our peoples, in the interest of all Albanians, in the interest of the security of our countries, of the order, the calm we offer to our people on both sides of the border. We agreed to have a joint agenda of co-operation in the coming months. The Minister X1> said.
Based on protocol in question, border control will be conducted according to the direction of the movement, where Albanian police officer conducts the census at the beginning of the territory of the Republic of Albania and Kosovo police officer conducts the census at the entrance of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and vice versa.
Joint procedures could vary between negotiations and mutual approval between the parties.
During the implementation of these joint control procedures, police officials will keep a list of low-speed vehicle processing, with only the vehicle plates and the number of people in the vehicle being marked at the moment of border crossing.
