According to a recent research conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Kosovo there are about 240 thousand weapons that circulate into the hands of citizens illegally. While a large number of them are confiscated annually by Kosovo Police.
According to the Kosovo Police Information Office, a total of 1211 weapons of different types have been confiscated during 2017 and 268 pieces of ammunition from various calibres.
