The Constitutional Court since mid-June has remained without three members, due to its failure to elect them in the absence of quorum in the Kosovo Assembly.
Yesterday, also US Ambassador Greg Delaway had asked the Kosovo Assembly not to be delayed for the election of three new members of the Constitutional Court. He has even appealed that politics do not get involved in the Constitutional.
“Politics should not be mixed in the Constitution. There is no delay: The Assembly should appoint three Constitutional Court judges now. Kosovo's highest court could function and defend rule of law”, Greg Delawie had written in “Titter”.
MP from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Hajdar Beqa, has indicated that this process must be carried out soon and the completion of the Constitutional Court.
But he has stressed that the judges proposed at last session of the Parliament have failed, failing to get enough votes. According to Beqras, candidates who have been re-elected are already expected to go back for the session vote.
This is procedure, the proposed judges last session have failed to take votes to become a Constitutional Court Judge, so the competition has been repeated so they have run again. They went into the interview and it's already left to go back to session”, Beqa said.
Otherwise, Kosovo's Parliament deputy has said candidates are loany, as they have been in the competition the first time, but according to him, the vote is crucial.
Recall, that the session held 18 May for electing members of the Constitutional Court has failed in the absence of sufficient votes. Where the Speaker of the Parliament, Kadri Wessel, had warned of a decision-making crisis at the Constitutional Court after June 15th.
Candidates for members of the Constitutional Court at the May 18th session were Nexmi Rajpei, Remzije Istrefi- Peci, Hajzer Salihu, Safet Hoxha, Shkemb Manaj and Vidan Qorrolli.
