In an interview with Panorama, Fevziu has shown that he talked to Ben Bludshi, the new director of Top Channel, about some of the disappointments he had.
A while ago, in a conversation with Ben Bludshi, the new director of Top Channel, we talked about some of my dissatisfaction in Tv Klan. There have been problems related to the conceptual and functional way of television that there are debates in every media. Ben Bludshi made me a proposal to become part of Top Channel. Seeing the way that TV is strengthening the political and journalistic line after Blushi's arrival, I felt tempted by this proposal. So far I've made no decision about moving to Top or staying in Clan. I've been talking to some of my loved ones and I'm going to make it fast, in accordance with the many feelings and facts that matter to me and my staff. And of course, to be acceptable to television where I'm going to work”, Fevziu confessed.
He added that “, according to me, this has no interest in the public. The removal of “It could be a loss related to the emotional and historical part of TV, but not to the future. Neither does the going of “Opion” to Top empower it. Television is a harmonisation of many programmes, and a more or less show plays no role in it. For viewers, those who have been following him for 21 years, I believe that “Opion” will follow.
He also told about his report with Tv Klan owner Alexander Frangay, he claims those two are friends but there are things they disagree about.
There was nothing concrete going on. We come to be friends, but recently I've had my obsession with program line and other phenomena in Klan. It's not like I've been talking to Frangay a lot during this time, but I've been talking to him lately. Like any work - related debate, there are things we have agreed upon and things we do not understand. But this is the discussion of a person who owns television and a person who simply expresses his ideas, believing that this would be better for TV itself. The decision-making is with Frangay and I believe he knows this better than anyone, the Fevziu showed.
Here I want to add one thing. My show, in almost 20 years, has never had misunderstandings in Klan, nor problems with Frankie. The only problem, in June 2013, was quickly overcome. “Any good or controversial product can be judged as a question of professionalism, but not foreign influence. And in Albanian media this is a rare and very valuable asset that came from TV leaders.
Below, you can read the Blendi Fevziu interview
What's the misunderstanding about the program line?
A long debate involving the report of values and attitudes on TV. I don't want to go public today because I don't see it right. What I'm impressed with is that we both think the same way in principle, but the correction screen is not yet coming.
The news of leaving Klan was also accompanied by the specification of your new destination at Top Channel. What stage are you at with the leaders of this television? How much impact did your old friend Ben Bludshi, who is the director on this television, decide to change the channel after many years in Clan, so is he the end of this decision?
We've discussed details with Topi that are mostly programming. Blues have been open. Of course, if I make a decision to move to Top, it is largely thanks to him. I've known him since we were children, and in almost 30 years, we've shared similar ideas about politics, media, and society. I've recently seen that at Top he's trying to build a media project and that's very tempting. I can't tell you. But not everything depends on him, of course.
What are the other modalities of your contract at which stage are they? Paying, for example. What it's going to be like in Top Channel and curiosity is, will you be paid more than in Clan? Or isn't it money, but other reasons you might be forced to leave, after about 20 years, by Clan?
Financial offer has no effect. In both countries it is almost the same. In 2013, I had a much bigger offer than this one today. Even in 2006. It's about income. And since you talk to me about financial offers, I guarantee you that there are a lot of journalists in the Albanian media who are paying a lot more than I am.
In the audience courses, by which you navigate, it should be said that Klan has priority as a television report with Top Channel, according to the measurements of specialised companies. Do you think Top Channel will win more audience if it goes “Opinion” there? The format will be the same or will make some changes, and if so, what will they be, how many times a week?
I said I don't believe a show makes a big difference between TVs. Second, audience is a matter of the moment, but it alternates with the project that a television has and with its target. Though unwritten, Tv Klan was a live media project. Frangaj had Andy Bushati, Armand Shkullaku, Andy Beate, Baton Hagiun, Fatos Lubonja, Alfred Peza, and others who probably remember this moment.
Although in 200209 Top Channel was superior to the audience, as a result of property problems in Klan, he dominated every political struggle. Today it is remembered 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, etc. Because TV is the media. He's known as one. First and foremost is thought and then shape. At that time, I remember another National television, TVA, after the departure of Zaj and Kel Demi, was invested in the art section, believing that this people deserve more spectacles and entertainment and that today they are gone!
Plus, audiences change quickly. 14 years ago, there were a lot of people who came to me saying that “Klan ended”, but today is the biggest television in the country. Likewise, 6 months ago, many told me the same thing: “Topi finished”. Now it looks different.
It's been years since the current topics you've been treating at “Opion” are opposed to the government, despite balanced panels. In fact, this way, you've been in fulfillment of your mission as a journalist, but how did you get through with the KLAN editorial line?
My shows have addressed the topic of the day, which has been sharper and more disturbing for society. Although as such, in many cases they have come in conflict with government policies. Believe me, making a show today is much harder than 10 years ago. But in these 20 years I've never had interference in the content of the show, nor in its editorial line. I've never even had a normal debate with Frangane, which in every workplace is inevitable. This is the most important and significant argument that could lead me to continue in the Klan.
Have you had the pressure on any particular subject not to be done? Have you failed any emissions due to censorship, noncompliance of the panel, or any other incident?
Not to me directly. Pressure no. But it happens that guests contact me, they try to manipulate them and... But not me. For 21 years I have been working with the most powerful but even the most problematic people in this country. Tensions have been, but pressure directly on me, no!
Is there political or business influence on your decision?
None! The truth is what I told you before. Alexander Frangay, Ben Bludshi, Baton Haxhiu, Zamir Mane, and 2 lC 3 other friends who have spoken with me know the truth very well. And when I talk openly about you, all of these, are able to verify the conversations we've made.
Finally, if you're going to Top Channel, will you continue to maintain your friendship with Frankie?
Of course. I said above that me and Frangane had a talk about TV concepts, nothing personal. You and everyone who keeps asking me these days, I need to know that the decision I have to make is very difficult. In 30 years of journalism, I've only changed two jobs. In my belief, I thought that “would die” professionally in Klan. Whenever this day came. Today I have to decide between a very appreciative offer for me personally and a project that unites me with 3-4 old friends in Top and stability created by a report that has never been professionally violated in Klan. And a very close 20-year friendship with Alexander Frankie. If you were in my position, you too would have made this very difficult decision.
