Lamir Thaci, spokesman at AVUK, told Radio Free Europe that the allegations that were presented in Slovenia regarding the quality of the Plazma product have no basis in Kosovo.
After reports by Slovenia's state that there have been doubts about the content of the Plazma cookies with origin from Serbia, we immediately raised the level of control. We've received information from cookies that have been troubled in Slovenia and after verification of the cargo and checks we've conducted on the import operator of this product, we have proven that cookies that have been suspicious are not present in Kosovo”, Thaci said.
In addition to this, we have conducted checks of other products that are with this type of product and so far, as far as data is concerned, everything is in order”, Thaci added.
The main responsibility for food control in Kosovo is to have Kosovo's Veterinary and Food Agency as state authority.
