Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will not decree Radomir Laban for judges at the Kosovo Constitutional Court.
The Presidency's Information Office has told Radio Free Europe that the decree will not occur until it carries out a complete verification by justice organs.
We can confirm that due to allegations raised on Mr. Laban, president of the Republic of Kosovo, will not make his decree until competent security and justice organs do not make complete verification”, the presidency's response is said.
Radomir Laban was nominated by the Serbian List to be the Constitutional Court judge until Kosovo Assembly deputies approved his election to this position.
Laban has been sentenced by Serbian authorities to six years in prison under charges of bribery.
The Vetevendosje movement has asked President Hashim Thaci not to decree Radomir Laban in the judge's position.
The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has made such a request, demanding a confirmation of its past.
