Several days ago, Haxhia turned himself over to Turkish police in order to launch his extradition procedure towards Albania, writes Lapsi.al.
The self-submission news he reported via Facebook. Izet Haxhia was arrested in 2006 in Turkey, but Turkish justice had not yet indicated his extradition, though the Albanian side had made continued demands at the time when Sali Berisha was in power.
Lapsy.al learns that Albanian police officers are already in Turkey to take Hadzi, who is accused of killing Azem Hajdari.
Izet Hadzia has been sentenced by the Albanian court to 25 years in prison for killing Azem Hajdari, an accusation he has never admitted. Its extradition to Albania could lead to the opening of the file éhidari.
A few days after surrendering to Turkish authorities, Hadzia has elected lawyer Fran Dasci, who will protect his interests during and after extradition, to Albania.
According to the lawyer, Hadzia will be re-judged and the file “Hedari” will be reopened. He also voiced conviction that his client is innocent, and that is why it requires a fair legal process, unlike that of several years ago. In a February interview this year, Haxhia declared that there is no guarantee of life and that he is convinced that all methods of physical elimination will be used to do so. But according to Berisha's former bodyguard, with his return to Albania after 19 years, he will also seek reopening the case “Heajdari”, to clarify not only his position on the event he is accused of, but also to speak with names about other persons involved in the event.
Regarding the report, Heydari has said he will present evidence that applies some very important people to this murder, but not to name names.
These people are part of a very powerful Mafia political clan, with certain intentions. Their name was not mentioned as designer and commanding officer of Hajdari's assassination, but also of Bukoshi Minister Ahmet Krasniqi. I have the courage to look into the eyes of all those who have accused me with unfair and subtle speech. When these hyenas are in front of me in the courtroom, then I will face the truths that will be their nightmare. I don't trust justice, because it has been and continues to be a powerful policy crutch”, Haxhia declared.
With his extradition to Tirana, we are left to wait for the outcome. Hadzia during her time in Turkey has pressed serious charges against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha as involved in Hajdari's murder, but in many other events.
