Apostolova has expressed satisfaction with the work Haskuka is performing in rule of law and protection of cultural heritage.
It's a pleasure to be in Prizren today, the city of Dokufest, a city that is a good example of multiethnicity in Kosovo and the region, and a city with potential beauty and tourism. I was in the region yesterday, on Mount Sharr, and I was amazed at the beauty and potential of tourism that this region has. I just met the mayor of the municipality with whom we had good discussions and understood his challenges and responsibilities for his work. We have discussed several topics to have co-operation and have seen opportunities to co-operate more in Prizren and the region. I am pleased with the mayor's commitment to respecting the rule of law in Prizren and preserving cultural heritage, as this is the basic and powerful European value”, said the Apostolova, KsP reported.
It has commemorated that the EU has invested in protecting cultural heritage and preserving it through various projects, supporting positive developments for Prizren, while saying it needs progress.
The mayor of Prizren said it feels good that today EU representatives are visiting this municipality because, according to him, a six-year-old vacuum of non-co-operation has been created between the municipality and the European Union in Kosovo.
EU guest Haskuka said he has told him of his governance points that according to him match EU priorities, such as an open and transparent municipality where he and civil society are part of decision-making.
Before Apostolova, Haskuka indicated that civil society, media and union will also participate in the selection of school directors.
The “has been a very good working meeting where we discussed many different topics affecting Prizren's municipality and the problems that municipalities have, we talked about how to overcome them jointly but also about different projects in the future, which can be done together with the European Union”, Haskuka said.
He has cited the signing that was made today for the Prizren Historical Centre, as well as the need for building a new school and expecting the support of the EU to build it.
