Paul Lekaj reacts after the indictment is filed against him

Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj has reacted after confirmation that an indictment has been filed against him for misuse of official office while at the helm of the Gjakova municipality.

Through a Facebook text, Lekaj has rejected Gjakova's prosecution claims, saying he has always acted in harmony with the law.

He has added that despite any decision that justice organs can give, he will uphold it.

 I'm reading in the media that law organs have filed an indictment for a case 10 years ago. All I can say for now is that in no case have I acted differently than in accordance with the law and in aid to the many citizens who have benefited from subsidies that the Gjakova Community has distributed. As I have been, I will continue to be in charge of duty to fulfill our obligations to our citizens and our country. Whoever the epilogue of justice organs is willing to respect it. But we're not going to stop at our job, no matter the pressure tendency”, Lekaj wrote.

Pal Lekaj, currently minister of Infrastructure in the Government of Kosovo, is charged with two criminal acts of alleged embezzlement and misuse of official office.
