Following his busy visit to Sofia, Foreign Minister and the number two of Kosovo government, Behgjet Pacolli, met with the number two Bulgarian government, security and public order responsible, simultaneously defence minister Krasimir Karakachanov, becomes known through a media communique.
The chief of Kosovo diplomacy was hosted at the military honours defence ministry at a very warm and friendly meeting among old friends. In this case, Pacolli thanked his co- talker for Bulgarian support since the beginning of Kosovo state-formation”, the communique said.
“We had only solutions to ensure our existence, declaring independence, and you were the first to recognise, in a difficult company”, Pacolli said, addressing his Bulgarian counterpart.
“You are a new state, small state, but with old history”, Karakachanov said, adding that “you will always have our support”. “We must work on intensive development of our relations, exploiting Corridor 8, very important in the region and in Europe”, he said.
While Pacolli has sought support for Kosovo at the Sofia Summit.
“I expect from Bulgaria, full hospitality for Kosovo at the Sofia Summit between the EU and the Western Balkans”, Pacolli said.
In this regard, he urged the Bulgarian government's number two mediation against neighbouring countries, which have not recognised Kosovo, as well as support for Kosovo's membership in Interpol.
“A Kosovo in Interpol is a service for a safe region”, Pacolli said, which found full approval of the co- talker.
Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli's visit followed with leaders of the Movement for Freedom and Rights (DPS), AKR counterpart in Bulgaria, allies within the International of liberal European parties.
