Doctors, nurses leaving Kosovo, target Germany

In recent years the wave of young people who are looking for an opportunity to go to Western European countries is on the rise. What is even more disturbing is that the prospect in Kosovo is not seeing even the persons who have already completed master studies. Only during the past year at the Institute [...]
During the past year alone at the “Gote” in Pristina, more than 1,400 persons have indicated their desire to complete a course in this institution so they can then go to Germany.
So why are people who are attending institute courses of various ages, the profile they're leading is doctors and nurses.
The director of this Annamaria Farkas-Meciniaj institute has told of Arbres.info, that the number of interested persons is increasing year after year.
They're very interested in coming to our institute that serves to carry out the German language course. Last year there were over 1,400 people who came and carried out the course or even the German-language test. The most interested profiles are doctors and nurses who are wanting to go to Germany for employment. Then come the engineers, IT as well as students who are wanting to go to Germany for studies but also have family reunions. The number of interested people in general is on the rise year-on-year to come to our institute. The age group is between 7 and 16 years in children, while in adults and in general the largest number is from 20 years old from now”, it has added.
And seeing the situation in the country and not improving it now and many years, Artan Murati from KDI says it is natural to have a large number of interested people going abroad for a better life.
It is reasonable that youths and those who have completed their studies seek a better life.
We remember that even after 20 years of end of the war and 10 years after the country's declaration of independence, in the absence of visa liberalisation, Kosovars still cannot travel freely.
