But speculation that the Democratic League of Kosovo has the potential to join the current government has rejected LDK Secretary General Ismet Beqiri.
He has said the only possibility that the LDK will be included in government is if new elections are held.
No LDK official, including me as top LDK official, will talk about involvement in this government. We have a decision that we do not become part of the government of the last national elections, and the only way that the LDK as a serious party and the first party instead of the government is to lead with the Kosovo government following the new elections that now must be held”, Beqiri stressed.
Once Kosovo Parliament deputy from the LDK ranks Beqiri has added that the Serb List's removal would undermine the government sooner or later. According to him, when a coalition has such a small number of partners, the risk of not functioning the executive has been a valid.
I can freely say that there is no news that happened with the Serbian List, because the formation of the government with such a small number of coalition partners has always been and there has been a potential danger that happened earlier and later. And another is the form of how and why it happened now, after what happened to the arrest of Serbian official”, he said.
Beqiri has stressed that if they speak of joining the Democratic League of Kosovo with the Haradinaj government, they are only the wishes of individuals, but by no means the LDK as a whole. He has no hesitation to say that if the elections are held, the LDK will be the first political subject to lead the country.
All speculations about the involvement of LDK in government are untrue and unstable are simply opinions and can be individuals' wishes, but not party stance. This is our clear stand and as such remains, what I mean is that the party has a clear position, the general council that we don't become part of this government, and we believe that the elections will be held as soon as possible and the LDK will be the first subject and will lead with the country, with the government of the country and for the evental partners will set up the party forums”, Bekiri has concluded.
