The entry of the chief of the so-called Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, to Kosovo without permission from Kosovo authorities and his arrest by Kosovo Police has raised tensions between Kosovo and Serbia. It is estimated that Brussels' dialogue will be followed by such tensions, the newspaper “Voice” writes today.
Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is expected to be conveyed with tensions, so it is estimated that the new phase of negotiations will not be easy at all. Political analysts and MPs say Kosovo should show restraint in its actions, while underlining the need to prepare a national platform for dialogue. According to them, there should be consensus among political parties in the country, as they say dialogue with Serbia exceeds party interests. Meanwhile, the European Union and the United States of America require both sides to hold back and continue dialogue.
The Kosovo government has told the newspaper “Voice” that it is still early to draw conclusions for recent developments. However, the country's executive says willing to continue dialogue with Serbia.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo estimates it is still early to conclude the situation. We believe that in the coming days and weeks there will be clarifications and opinion will be announced over time. As for dialogue, the agenda is assigned by Brussels and the Kosovo side is ready whenever”, the Government's response said. Kocijanciq: Both sides have pledged continued dialogue
European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijanciq, in a proposal for “Zerin”, has said both sides have pledged to continue dialogue
The two sides have pledged dialogue and we believe dialogue is the way forward and in light of the Western Balkans strategy”, Kocijanciq has declared.
