Who is Fehmi Mehmeti, the new BQC Governor

He had been appointed to the post of deputy governor for Financial Supervision at the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo on September 1, 2013. In his position as deputy financial supervisor, he was in charge of licensing, monitoring and overhauling financial institutions, which operate in the Republic of Kosovo, or in particular banks, institutions [...]

Mehmet finished his studies at the University of Pristina Economics Faculty, in 1991. In 2012, postgraduate studies, financial markets, and the Bank have been completed.

During 1991-1992, Mehmet worked in high school “Marin Becikemi” in Vushtrri, as an economic legalist, while during 1993-1998 he worked as financial leader in commercial companies.

During 1999-2001 he worked in the Municipal Assembly in Vushtrri, originally as an official in the finance department, and then as Director of the Directorate for Health and Social Goodness.

In 2001-2011, Mehmet has held different positions in the Kosovo Tax Administration, originally in the regional office in Mitrovica, as tax inspector, and then at the Pristina General Tax Directorate, initially in the position of VAT Advisor and then as Tax Repayers Control Manager.

During the time of engagement in the Kosovo Tax Administration, Fehmi Mehmeti has been active participants in drafting Kosovo's tax legislation.

While in 2011-2013, Mehmet was initially the main official for budget and finance, the Finance Department, and then as Chief Chief of Executive Chief, at Pristina International Airport.

During the time of engagement at Pristina International Airport, Fehmi Mehmeti has been active participants in drafting the Pristina International Airport legislation.

During the 2010-2013 period, he was the Board's Director at Public Enterprise “Unity” with headquarters in Mitrovica. At the same time, during 2011-2012, he has been engaged as an external associate, legalist at Pristina University.

In addition to higher experience, Mehmet has the title of Certificate Accounting and is a very good expert on tax issues, and civil aviation issues.

Deputy Governor Fehmi Mehmeti is born in 06.05,1969 in the village of Beciq, the municipality of Vushtrri. He lives in Pristina with his wife, Mrs. Lucky Mehmet and having three children: Hermione, Ermira and Ardian.
