Kosovo soldiers deal with Korca Zemblek bridge

Albania will support the Kosovo Security Force at every step, both in transforming KSF into the military and on the road towards Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration.

Thus has Albanian Defence Minister Olta Dzacka declared, in the case of the inauguration of the Zembly Bridge, the bridge that over the Devall River was built by the Kosovo Security Force in co-operation with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, as the existing bridge had been damaged after the December floods.

Gacka said the KSF, with the construction of the 54m-long bridge, has made the communication relief of 32 thousand residents of this area with health centres, schools and major road axes.

The 32 thousand people you've come to help aren't a bit so I have a heartfelt gratitude for you and not just because you're a good brother to be us on a good and difficult day, this is mutual. But even for the fact that you are now giving me this is an indication that you are a reliable partner and not just for us but for the entire region and we are with you and we will support you step by step. First, in transforming the KSF into an armed force and then on the natural path towards Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration”, the minister said.

Minister Gacka expressed her thanks to the KSF and the Government of Kosovo for building this bridge, saying this bridge will now be recognised as the Kosovo bridge.

I am very happy that this 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence finds us together building bridges in the best spirit of co-operation and helping our citizens. Not only the citizens of Zembly but the entire area here and in the municipality, as well as the surrounding villages, to enjoy this bridge. I want to tell you that the hands of all KSF military workers who participated in building the bridge and I hope so long that this is no longer known as the Zembalk bridge, but as the Kosovo Bridge, with the contribution of KSF military”, she said.

To inaugurate this bridge built by KSF in Zemblak was KSF deputy minister Burim Ramadani, who said it is an honour and pride to help Albania.

Kosovo's “We have it for honour and pride to receive Albania's help, but also to offer assistance to Albania at this 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence. Co-operation, which is an example not only in this area but in all areas with Albania. Surely we hope that the emergency situation will be as rare and as low as”, Ramadani said.

He voiced confidence that co-operation between the two states will be continuous.

The honour and satisfaction that KSF has helped residents of Zemblek said it will also be the commander of the Kosovo Security Force Nundman Rama.

It's an honor and a pleasure for us to be able to help these citizens and this community get a free movement. We with these small opportunities that we have had are no match for the support we have had from the Albanian state, even in the most difficult times. We hope we don't need this stuff anymore, but despite what we as forces are very professional and you've seen it's the best evidence that this bridge is built. We at least have had the help we have had in the most difficult times that we've had from the Albanian state, by the Armed Forces we're trying to get back”, Rama said.

Construction of the Zembly Bridge has been completed from 3 February to 10 February.
