Michelle Obama has knocked Hillary Clinton down after 17 years from the throne of the most popular woman in the United States.
Clinton, former presidential candidate, Secretary of State and First Lady, placed third in the Gallup poll. The second before it was the Oprah Winfrey moderator.
Michelle Obama won this year's survey by a large margin. In the previous three polls she was always second after Clinton, but this time she finally managed to reverse her dominance. Britain's Queen Elizabeth ranked fifth, followed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
For the 11th consecutive year, former President Barack Obama placed first on the list of most popular men, passing his successor again, Donald Trump, who ranked second for the fourth consecutive year.
The survey is conducted every year since 1946, missing only once in 1976.
