December 14th has been 20 years filled by the already-known “Panda” case, which occurred in the centre of Pec, when six young Serbs were killed, while no one was sentenced to this day.
In Kosovo judiciary the case “Panda” does not figure, while investigations continue to take place in Serbia, writes Belgrade's “Danas” newspaper today, broadcasts “Koha.net.
This newspaper recalls that Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has sometimes repeated that there are “certain knowledge” in the case, but still it has not been resolved.
On December 14th 1998, two masked males entered the “Panda” cafe, located in the centre of Pec, in front of Gjimnazi, and from an automatic gun range left five Serbian high school students dead, and a Serbian student, also killed Ivan Obradovic, Zoran Stanojevik, Stveislav Ristic, Dragan Trifofq and Vukos Gvozdenq, and student Ivan Radevq, recall <2x> <2doc>
Vukchev, former Serbia war crimes prosecutor, told this newspaper that the prosecution he had led was not competent for the case “Panda”, but the information he had spoken in favour of that in the direct vicinity of the cafe, as well as in the surrounding environment there were no Albanians, but exclusively Serb soldiers and police, and that it is the case “for serious instruction of case”, Timenet broadcast.
Given the fact that the massacre on Serbian youth has not been prosecuted by the Kosovo judiciary, the case “Panda” in 2015 has been taken by the Prosecutor for Organised Crime. As Belgrade media have written, until last year under investigation since May 2016 this prosecutor against unknown leaders has been questioned 34 witnesses. It was then warned, media reports, interrogation of other witnesses, and obtaining facts that could benefit the occasion.
Serbia's Aleksandar Vuciq has sometimes said there are “certain knowledge” about young people's murder, and that Serbia's competent bodies are looking for evidence. He has also stated that the case will be enlightened faster, but that has not yet happened, the killers continue to be free. Interestingly, he sometimes pointed out that the truth will not please the opinion. As a result, there has been much speculation, from those that members of the KLA committed crime, to those of then Serb police members, broadcast Koha.net.
Bekim Blakaj, director of the Fund for Humanitarian Law in Kosovo, has declared that the Fund has no detailed data concerning its authors and commissioners.
I have to say this is a serious crime. The lives of six young people have been interrupted 20 years ago, it is understood that their families are now at the most serious because they are even further manipulated by who the authors and the officers could be. They not only haven't seen justice, but they don't even know the truth” has said Blakaj quoted “Danas” as saying RTK2 (Serbianly). Yesterday in the Pristina City Library facilities, with the organization of the Fund being kept public hours around this focus crime in the victims of this event.
Without Answers from the Ministry of Justice
The editorship of “Dans” has yesterday asked the Ministry of Justice (the question for Serbia v.j) whether there is any new knowledge about the “Panda” case of the anniversary of the massacre on Serbian youth in the centre of Pec. Unfortunately, until this issue is closed, we have received no response.
