KMDLNJ says it is carefully forwarding efforts to form a Negotiator team proposed by the Kosovo Government, as well as the adoption of a proposed PSD resolution.
And so, KMDLNj had earlier proposed forming a Negotiator team that would be voted into the Kosovo Assembly, thus turning the responsibilities for talks with Serbia and the framework and content of these talks.
“in this context KMDLNI supports the initiative of the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society respectively, the Executive Director, Luan Shllaku, to help draft a platform for talks through the engagement of civil society, as an active and irreplaceable part of this process, in the initial phase and then, depending on the requirements or needs for the dynamisation of the negotiations process, to engage international experts in the while not violating the ownership of this process that remains fair of Kosovo institutions. The eventual engagement of Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti, who is at the same time chairman PSD as co-chairman of the Negotiator Team for KMDLNj poses conflict of interest, at least in the moral plan as well as in the functional plan. The gathering of positions at the same time and where there are expected to be additional activities, the Pristina chairman is unable to fulfil his obligations to Pristina citizens with whose votes he has also been elected head of the capital. For KMDLNj, “the troika “of President Ahmeti's posts is in conflict with pledges of fulfilling the obligations he has made and the electoral promises he has given to the citizens of Pristina. Instead, KMDLNI proposes that co-chairman of the Negotiator Team be a representative of civil society as if civil society should have another member on the Negotiator Team. These proposals would arise after consulting and proposing civil society and not for them to be imposed by any address or interest group. Of course, during the completion of the negotiating team, representation should be respected on gender and ethnic grounds! Also, KMDLNI proposes that the opposition be represented equally with position and without being discriminated against in any respect”, the KMDLNj communiqué said.
Only if the Negotiator team is elected with votes in the Kosovo Assembly and if we have a reconciliation between position and opposition in the interest of Kosovo citizens and state, KMDLNj will contribute to working groups, if need is presented, but in any context and circumstances it would not become part of the Negotiator Group.
KMDLNj calls all political subjects, civil society and influential personalities to contribute to this necessary and necessary process for Kosovo citizens and the future of Kosovo. /
