The loss of 53m euros in the government's contract with Bectel Enkan for Elez's Pristina- Hanian highway has led the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) today to present analysis of the factors that have affected the loss of these state budget money.
At a media conference, KDI representative Diana Metushi-Krasniqi asked the prosecution for investigation into this contract, because according to her, there have been deliberate neglect by governments that have been constantly leading.
The key factor that has resulted in this loss is the government's chronic neglect to address key plans. We ask the prosecution to start investigating this intentional contract”, she said.
On the other hand, Metushi-Krasniqi stressed the need for this contract to be audited commercially.
In terms of delays being made, she added that the government should make a penalty for the company -- 41 thousand euros per day.
“The government must penalise 41,000 euros per day for delays after December 31st of this year, this could be executed if it doesn't pay”, she said
