Germany has given support to the transformation of the Security Force into the Armed Forces, although they have recalled the earlier stance that this process should not be hasty and inclusive.
The German “position, as stated earlier, is that Kosovo as an independent state also has its right to have armed forces. We've stressed that this process should not be hasty and that it should be inclusive, especially in terms of non-most communities”, says the German Embassy's response, sent to “Kha Ditore.
As for the package of laws expected to be adopted tomorrow in the Assembly, according to the Embassy, they will be analysed after adopted. But, they have recalled, this initiative should not be misused by either side in relations, Kosovo-Serbia.
Thus, as in all other full legislative acts in the Kosovo Assembly, we will analyse relevant laws after they have been adopted. That is why we support continuing a close co-operation with NATO during the transformation process. Most importantly, the adoption of laws is not misused as a pretext for a crossing to be furthered by either side in relations between Belgrade and Pristina“, the German Embassy concludes.
