Turkish combat aircraft have flown over the Greek islands of Itzis and Castelorizo today without presenting a flight plan, the Greek General Staff announced.
Two Turkish combat aircraft have flown over the island of Naosis to an altitude of about 7,600m, Greek news agency ANA reported.
Also, two Turkish fighter planes flew over two and a half hours ago on the island of Castelorizo at a height of 1,200m and 7,600m, as well as the island of Ro, off the coast of Turkey.
Tensions between the two neighbouring states come after official Athens earlier today warned it would level the islands to ground in the event of “escalation of Turkish provocation”.
