European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic has said the 100% firm tax on Serbian goods should be lifted and the dialogue between the parties continued.
The European Union has not yet set a date for the upcoming meeting of Pristina and Belgrade leaders, but before such a meeting takes place, it requires a 100 per cent tax on Serbian products.
The last meeting held in Brussels between President Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq, was November 8th 2018.
European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic, though she has not given any date for the upcoming meeting, has told “Zerin” that dialogue will continue. Our “Work is continuing, as discussed in the last round of dialogue. We are in constant contact to assess the continuation of the last meeting”, she said.
Kocijanci has added that the government of Kosovo should revote the tax decision on Serbian products, as the measures taken do not help normalise relations between the two states. Kosovo's “government must revote these decisions. Actions, measures and statements perceived as provocative and offensive are deeply disturbing and do not help in dialogue and normalising relations.
Anques must be addressed through dialogue for which the European Union is committed to continuing to facilitate. The proposal is on the table, is in the hands of the parties to discuss and take it forward. We are willing to support you to find a solution”, she added.
