Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri has accused the internationals of failing to open the Iber River bridge.
In an interview for the newspaper “The new age”, he said this bridge was deliberately not opened for movement.
According to him, this issue will become part of Brussels' negotiations to condition Kosovo on the presence of any agreement with Serbia.
Bahtiri has said that Kosovo in this process should not accept any condition, until it has invited the political spectrum to reach a national consensus for the final phase of Kosovo dialogue -- Serbia.
The international Union has completely failed to open the bridge and implement the agreement on this issue that has been reached in Brussels. Her failure has moved us even more to begin our initiative in uniting the city”, Bahtiri said.
In this interview, Bahtiri has also spoken of the initiative to unite two municipalities in one.
He has indicated that if the Ministry of Management of Local Power (MAP) considers this illegal initiative then he will begin collecting signatures to address the Kosovo Assembly.
This is an initiative based on the will of the citizens of this municipality, so our institutions should respect it. I'm with the citizens and I hear their voice. If this does not go to MAPL, then I will address the citizens of Mitrovica to collect over 10,000 signatures and turn to the Kosovo Assembly for this constitutional initiative”, Chairman Bahtiri has indicated.
