Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs through a communique for the media accused Serbia “of blackmailing approach ... led to Interpol officials and several delegations of African countries” that resulted in Kosovo's refusal to Interpol.
MPJ expresses deep concern for non-membership in Interpol and for the blackmailing approach of the Serbian state to Interpol officials and several delegations of African countries, as well as condemns the offensive of Serbian delegation officials in their attempted corruption through bribery for some of the participating officials of member states in Interpol.
Membership in Interpol has been the process of meeting technical and professional criteria, which Interpol's management and managerial structure has positively assessed, but Serbia and some of the states with which it stands in a close report, politicised it.
The Republic of Kosovo thanks all states that voted for membership and will continue deepening co-operation with the allied states, the US and the EU.
It will not stop traveling in international processes in all areas, the communiqué concludes.
