Knowledge of Dignity

A confession of political uncertainty is making Kosovo branded and irresponsible. This language is making the population more politically mature than its political elite. As an example, I could mention the discus of Avdullah Hoti and not just his.

A climate of political uncertainty is developing between Kosovo and Serbia, which is affecting the movement of global interests' positions.

What may be the epilogue of this process, how long can it last, and can Kosovo complete citizenship in this process?

While we are in the final product of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, we should still consider the assessment of the idea for “correction of borders” articulating by the president of Kosovo.

However, against continued advertising in public opinion, is there a real possibility of failure to reach the agreement next year because of the parties' incompatibility? The question is if this happens does it increase the likelihood of the process of national unity, or does Kosovo make with dominant political language like Avdullah Hoti, where the competition for epithesia “-tradition” captures the peak of non-seriosity as a way of political communication?

I'm standing in Paris and the two states that have corrected everything from their past, from Versailles, and since they separated Albanians into some political and territorial spaces.

France and Britain during the past century and this century were respected for Kosovo's dignity.

In Rambouille, where the conference that has defined Kosovo's future is held, the Kosovo delegation has taken a stance to fight for freedom and equality. Twenty years later, under the Arch of Triumfi, we received a brotherhood from France, Kosovo was recognised as an equal member of world states.

And that was not merely symbolic. It was very concrete and very mandatory. There were no stars, no excuses for the position and treatment of Kosovo and its president, Thaci, in Paris. It was a very transparent signal for all those (out and out) who suspect and play wild games with Kosovo citizenship.

On live broadcasting on their national television, Serbian citizens saw and realised that Kosovo is a state, equal partner in the international community. And it wasn't the question who got a better chair, Vuciq or Thaci. It was for the respect Kosovo's president received from world powers leaders.

Because Thaci is now discussing Kosovo's future even with Vladimir Putin, as he has sat down with US and EU decision-makers. It is the case of the citizens, the responsibility of the statesmen, who must give the best vision possible for the future of the country.

Yes, Kosovo has been helped by friends, the US above all, but the time has come to be stable and of course we are expected and respected to act on our own with a leadership consensus.

What has Kosovo received from Paris, and what is the true symbolism of Kosovo's treatment in Paris?

First: We are respected, and it has been a conviction and faith that we are willing to care for our future.

Second: It is maturity that Kosovo has won in two challenging decades since Rambouillet. It is also the maturity of the statesman, won by the strength and courage of the warrior, but the maturity of the warrior's time has passed. Now is the time to be a politician.

Kosovo gained this position at the time when the balance of world power is not what it once was.

Third: Europe itself is surprised and confused by its ghosts from the past, populism and nationalism. America of Trump and Brex are calling for new balances of power on the continent, while Russia is ready to use this opportunity.

The Western Balkans are forgotten, trying to pull themselves towards co-existence, stability and growth, in times when EU membership seems more and more like a sort of fixation.

At this confusing time of showing the new world order, Kosovo is called to play the power game and therefore is given room and voice among power players. But that's what Avdullah Hoti realizes, not some others.

That's why above all for Serbia, Paris was to understand that for Putin and Kosovo is an international player and not just a card game with the US and Europe.

This meaning from that meeting is now changing games. He sends the signal that Vuciqi is not as powerful as he would possibly have been with the monopoly of the Russian stance towards the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.

This could also mean that Vuciqi was for a long time trying to play double game with the West and Russia, but after flying with the two countries he suddenly finds himself out (or, at least, a country on the other side in the third row).

From now on, this will mean that the agreement made by Vuciqi will increasingly depend on the president of Kosovo.

Hashim Thaci should be, like all Kosovo politics, careful with that advantage. This should not be a game won by a meeting and presentation in Paris. Everyone must win, citizens in Serbia and Kosovo as well.

What's important is we've been treated with respect because we've shown the capacity to build the state. We are expected to move beyond sacrifice and treat others with respect.

Now is the time to show that we have political elites who have a vision and strength to stand for it. Because, if you don't stand for something, you'll do nothing”.
