All investment in equipment in public health centres can be postponed beyond promises made by government officials. This is because the current government aims to undo last government's plan, envisioning 50m euros in investment in equipment.
Health Minister Uran Ismaili doubts that the planning that has been passed on to the preliminary government does not present real needs, so it says it has initiated a new feasibility analysis, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
Kosovo institutions must wait until next year to see the result of the new feasibility plan, and then expect an additional time to complete that plan.
The 50m-euro investment was seen as the first step to implement the Law on Health Insurance. Doctors and health managers had declared that without this investment public hospitals could not enter the insurance scheme without the Government of Kosovo meeting the conditions.
