A meeting of the Interministerial Council for Waters, which should be held last week, has been cancelled at the last moment due to a change of agenda by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's adviser, Albena Resiti, who is responsible for environmental issues. This change has revolted Switzerland's ambassador to Kosovo, Jean-Hubert Lebet, who has fled the facility where the meeting should be held.
A priority high-level meeting to be held within the prime minister's office has failed as a result of organisational responsibilities. First participants have revolted with a change of agenda in recent moments. They were recently notified of the change in the agenda.
The meeting was scheduled to take place last Thursday and should all members of the Interministerial Council of Waters were present, writes Insander.
In addition to members of the inter-ministerial Council consisting of seven members, Switzerland's Ambassador Jean-Hubert Lebet and France, Didier Chabert, would also attend.
The meeting should start at 10:00. But it had failed after the agenda had been changed in recent moments by Prime Minister Albena Resitij's adviser, who is responsible for environmental issues.
Some of the relevant water performers had not even attended the meeting.
Only Switzerland's ambassador had made it to the government's object. However, he too had refused to enter the meeting.
The change in the agenda had revolted on him as well. He had considered the agenda of the meeting to be inconsistent. Since no space was given to discuss projects that are financed by embassies, Insander learns from sources within the prime minister's office.
The Swiss ambassador has personally expressed his concern to Prime Minister Haradinaj, just minutes before the meeting started”, said this source for Inseder.
That had prompted Prime Minister Haradinaj to cancel the meeting. For this irresponsible Haradinaj has berated Reshua.
Isander has asked Resitaj about changing the agenda and cancelling this meeting, but has not yet received answers.
Government spokeswoman Donjet Gashi has not denied that he told Insider that this meeting will be held this week.
This week will be the appointment in question. We inform you, in time for details”, Gashi said.
The Interministerial Water Council consists of seven permanent members, five of whom have the right to vote. The prime minister is also the leader, Minister of Economic Development, Environment and Spatial Planning, Minister of Finance, Minister of Management of Local Power, and two representatives from the donor community (without a vote).
One of them is the Swiss Office for Co-operation, designated as the leader of the water sector among donors, as well as one of the active donors in the water sector, with rotary representation.
