This is a Government project, funded by World Bank borrowing and aimed at supporting the foundation of the Health Insurance Fund and strengthening primary health care.
Minister Ismaili announced members of the Committee for Restructuring the project, which has been done in order to adapt activities based on the absorption capacity of the Health Ministry, or the Health Insurance Fund.
“We are in the process of finalising the Health Safety Law and Health Insurance Law, which will enable the functioning of the Health Insurance Fund, including here and the scheme of extra-spy drugs”, Minister Uran Ismaili said.
The ongoing meeting was also Deputy World Bank Manager in Kosovo Diego Garrido Martin.
We have seen huge changes since Minister Ismaili has taken the lead in this sector. I've never seen a minister who spent so much time on the project and was very involved with his details. We see this restructuring as a very positive trajectory, so the World Bank stands ready to support you in whatever way it can. The health sector is the key to Kosovo's development and we will be close to you”, Garido has said.
Finance Minister Bedri Hamza was present.
If we make comparisons in the middle of the years, there are major health changes. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance will be close to supporting this sector, of this project, which may be a good example of establishing even greater co-operation with the World Bank”, he has said.
Project co-ordinator Dr. Fatime Arenaliu '% Qosaj, said it was very important that the Steering Committee, under its tasks, pledged to intensify the project implementation dynamics further so that all the results ahead with this project can be achieved
The Kosovar Health Project has become effective in May 2015 and is expected to be completed in October 2019.
