Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, during an interview for Reuters, seems to have decided to condition the EU.
He said he would seek guarantees that if his country became part of the European Union in 2025, Serbia would manage to sign any agreements with neighbouring Kosovo.
“Before we sign an agreement with Pristina, Serbia should be guaranteed to become a European Union state in 2025”, Vuciq said.
Aleksandar Vuciq explained that Belgrade and Pristina cannot reach an agreement due to the numerous differences their countries have in the past 10 years.
I sometimes get to laugh when I hear people simplify things so much that they even set a certain date for signing the deal. They even say that, even three villages will be exchanged in three”, the president of Serbia stressed, conveys the Intv script.
Vuciq has added that if they ever reach an agreement with Pristina, it would be general that would include not only relations between them and Albanians in Kosovo, but would also have to include a resolution on advancing towards the EU and further on about economic development.
