Because most of Kosovo's population is Muslim, homosexuals are not always easy. Yet, they lifted their voices. ” So begins the Swiss daily “Blic”.
Members of the LGBT community demonstrated for the second time in a grand parade for their rights in Pristina.
Participants demanded more freedom and equal rights, waved rainbow flags and carried a flag with the inscription “on behalf of freedom”.
“Unlike the first parade last year, in what was held Wednesday, the major politicians were absent except for the Minister for European Integration”, Blick writes.
Also, the ambassadors of Germany and France and a representative of the European Union participated.
Kosovo's “Community is mostly Muslim. The love of the same sex often faces severe rejection. A large police force was used to protect demonstrators”, Blick writes away.
