Skenderbeu, one of the most respected figures in national history

International scientific conferences have been held, dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the death of Gjergj Kastriot-Skenderbeu, where his figure is rated high in the unification of the Albanian people.

Institute of History Director “Ali Hadri” Sabit Syla has said Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu entered the history scene at an extremely critical moment for Albania and for the fate of Europe.

He said that under his leadership, the Albanian struggle rose to a high-level organised level, which marked a decisive turn in the country's political development and in strengthening national consciousness.

Skenderbeu's memory, according to Silas, lived not only in the hearts of the people who gave birth to him, his work and figure took on European proportions. He added that Skenderbeu was elevated by prominent European personalities of the time.

Skenderbe's skills as a statesman were also prominent in dealing with the outside world. In addition to establishing relations with Western states, even with the state of Osman has concluded two agreements, one in 1460 and the other 1463. Meanwhile, following the war for the city of Deja in October 1448, the peace treaty with Venice was signed. “With the flag of Skenderbe, Albanians have led hundreds of battles, given thousands of martyrs, and with this flag we are testifying that the real way of freedom and democracy is what our George fought for until the last breath of his life. It achieved in principle the unification of Albanians, the League of Albanians in Lezha, which paved the way for the creation of the first independent Albanian state. Minister of Education, Science and Technology Shyqi, Shyqiri Bytyqi, has said Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu is one of our most respected figures in our national history.

Representatives from Albania also contributed to this scientific conference. Academical Marenglen Verley, the Rector of Albania's Albanology Studies Academy, has said that wherever Albanians live, the year 2018 has been Gjergji Kastriott Skenderbeu, whom Italians, Hungarians, Polish, Austrians, and other Germans have been commemorating and commemorating him with various activities.
