Portugal will support the Republic of Kosovo in the process of quick visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens and the full and equal membership of our country in Interpol.
So said Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli, during a visit to Portugal, where he was hosted by his counterpart Augusto Santos Silva and senior representatives from the Portuguese state.
The meeting discussed intensifying and deepening mutual co-operation in areas of common interest.
Kosovo's diplomacy chief has in this case secured the host state's support for the quick visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens, as well as for our country's full and equal membership in Interpol.

Kosovo and Portugal will intensify bilateral and multilateral co-operation, and the fact that we have decided to open our embassy in Lisbon within weeks is the best testimony of this institutional commitment”, Pacolli said.
During his visit to Lisbon, Minister Pacolli has also been hosted at a special meeting by Portuguese Deputy Parliament Speaker José Manuel Pureza, where he has been discussed deepening co-operation on parliamentary diplomacy.
Portugal has recognised the Republic of Kosovo in the same year of its declaration of independence. It is a founding state of NATO, while since 1986 it has been a member of the European Union.
