President Hashim Thaci has been conducting a telephone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq today, where, among other things, they have talked about the murder of Serbian SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic.
As the president's statement reports, Thaci has assured Vucinqi that Kosovo justice bodies are investigating the discovery of this murder, writes Periscope.
A particular issue, which was discussed between the two presidents, was also yesterday's murder of Civic Initiative Chairman “Liberty, Democracy, Justice” (SDP) Oliver Ivanovic. In this regard, President Thaci has assured President Vucic that the prosecutor's and police responsible bodies are making intensive investigations into the discovery and bringing to justice those who have made this murder. President Thaci also stressed that the competent organs of the Republic of Kosovo are willing to co-operate in accordance with the legislation in power and accept any assistance, which could lead to the whiteening of this killing”, the statement said.
The two presidents reportedly stressed the necessity of giving them sufficient time for competent bodies to perform their work professionally and independently. What's key to all of this, is the discovery of the perpetrators of this assassination, the two presidents stressed. ”
Also, they have talked about continuing dialogue, which was interrupted immediately after Ivanovic's assassination, shortly before the new phase of dialogue in Brussels began.
“in this phone conversation, the two presidents addressed various issues of common interest, focusing on the need to continue dialogue for normalising inter-state relations, strengthening peace in the region and the prospect of Euro-Atlantic integration”, the communiqué says. /Periscopi/
