The former Catalunian leader, who is on the run in Belgium, Carlos Puigdemont, is loving his position again.
He has said that new technologies would enable him to lead the Catalonian government while he remains in Belgium.
Puigdemond has left for Belgium after Spain had launched an investigation into it, for holding a referendum on the independence of Catalonia.
This prompted Spain to organise elections in this region, where the Catalonic separatists secured the parliamentary majority.
But as members of the Catalonia government are under investigation, prisoners or in Brussels and face arrest if they return, the new governing body of this region must decide by the end of January whether to allow Puigdemont to rule through an authorised delegate.
Spain's central government has pledged to prevent Puigdemont's restoration by challenging him in the courts if necessary.
