At this meeting the minister, Resitiy confirmed her pledge and willingness to co-operate with the ombudsman in the implementation of Kosovo's applicable laws, with which the MMPH functions.
The minister promised that he would commit that possible legal recommendations, concerns and violations involving the environment, which are identified by the ombudsman, will be taken into account as MMPH leader.
I thank you first for your commitment to the mission you have in protecting citizens' rights. Me and the ministry I lead will always be open to co-operate in the best of the environment and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo”, the minister Resitij has said.
Meanwhile, ombudsman Hilmi Jashari expressed gratitude for the minister and for her readiness to co-operate with the institution.
Jashari asks the minister that MMPH inspectors pronounce direct fines for operators who violate the law, saying it is not necessary to send them directly to court.
The law allows the inspector to pronounce fines. They can go to court for review only if the punitive side complains. I say with full responsibility that the inspectorate has the right to pronounce fines without the need for them to be forwarded to the tribunal”, Jashar has been expressed.
Rashshiaj and Jashari agreed to continue working together even with field visits to see the state of the environment.
