Minister for Communities and Kthim Dalibor Jevtic has declared that Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's visit to Kosovo after Oliver Ivanov's assassination has calmed tensions and brought peace.
“It was a good reaction and decision to the president of Serbia, although difficult because of security, he immediately came to negotiate with everyone, with all political representatives and people in Kosovo”, he told Radio Television of Serbia.
Following the assassination of Serbian Initiative head SDP Oliver Ivanovic on 16 January before his party's headquarters in northern Mitrovica, head of Serbian state, stayed for a visit to Kosovo
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has declared that it was not easy and pleasant, yet he was satisfied with his stay in Kosovo.
As he said, he is satisfied because he has done an extremely important job of unifying the people in Kosovo. He also noted that he had summoned all his political opponents to Mitrovica and had talked with them.
In contact with the people of Kosovo, he noted, three things.
There are first people living as rich and receiving Serbia's high state salaries, while there are others who have nothing from the state. Second, these people have made it clear, and I am confident that with little effort and commitment to help them, life can become easier. Third to me, it seems that in a rational way I was and realisticly talking about the situation in Kosovo”, Vucic said.
I understand that Albanians are open-minded to hear that a little Milan from Suvo Grlo lost his father and he was shot by his brother, or that the mother with six children lost her husband and that she had shot him. Because so far, there have been stories that only Serbs were criminals. The most important thing is that people who lose their relatives just want to survive. They don't want revenge, they want to be free and live in their own house. They are wonderful people with bitter luck”, he added.
As he was asked how he felt that numerous opposition leaders in Belgrade and Kosovo have accused him of killing Oliver Ivanovic, Vucic said that when someone has never been to Kosovo to see Ivanovic, according to him, it is better to keep silent.
