On September 30th 2016, former Infrastructure Minister Lutfi Zharku had made an unusual request to his boss Isa Mustaf.
In the motion, Zharku demanded that the Kosovo government approve a one-year-long annex of work on the Pristina highway é Hani of Elez.
The request was based on the fact that the ministry had failed to deliver all financial obligations to the construction company “Bechtel-Enka”.
Based on a confidential report by current Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj, who has managed to secure the newspaper “Zeri”, the then-led ministry led by Lutfi Zharku had first reached an agreement with the company at an additional cost of 14.8m euros.
This cost included an additional one-year term at the request of the Government of Kosovo, which the company along with staff and machinery would have to stay in Kosovo.
The same demand, however, according to this report, a copy of which the paper “Voice” owns, was not taken into account by former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.
