Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has fired investigations into Agim Sahitaj, who has been suspected of criminally committing war crimes, allegedly committed in April 1999, along with Serbian military and police forces.
“Agim Sahiti has been released from custody since the 08.08.2017, and he will never again face such doubts, which with professionalism and correction, the prosecutor of the Elez Blakaj case has investigated for more than five months”, wrote his lawyer Tome Gashi on Facebook.
According to Gashi, on the investigation into Agim Sahitaj's case, no reasonable doubt has been proved, that the same one committed the war crimes criminal work he was investigated for.
“Of course the professional work of the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Office has brought a fair and legal decision, but still the culprits must be found for the killing of 38 Albanian civilians in the massacre of Serb forces in April 1999.
Anyone who has knowledge of anyone involved in the massacre of Albanians in the Suhareka village of Sopi has been encouraging him to cooperate with the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo to find the culprits”, Gashi has said.
