The special envoy for Southeast Europe, Turkey and the EFTA states at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christian Hellbach and the chief of the Western Balkan Department of Foreign and European Affairs, Thomas Bertin, will stay for a two-day visit to Kosovo tomorrow.
During this visit, they will meet with President Hashim Thaci, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, Kosovo's deputy prime minister, as well as representatives of political parties and civil society.
The visit is held in the background of concerns in Berlin and Paris over recent efforts to abolish the Law on Specialised Chambers and the specialised Prosecutor's Office.
Other topics for discussion include the necessity of continuing reforms, especially in the area of rule of law, democracy and good governance, which are essential for Kosovo's further approach to the EU.
