Chief of the Council for Higher Education, Mehdi Navid-Adham, has said of a state television that “the teaching of analse language in government and non-governmental schools is against the laws and regulations”.

The Supreme Leader, Ayatolah Ali Khamenei, in 2016 had demonstrated his concerns about “English language lessons in children's gardens”.
In 2017, the Iranian Intelligence Agency has banned publication of a book in Kurdish.
