Leaders Leave central power for municipalities

If the race for local elections was a chess game, political parties in Macedonia are playing with the highest figures to win the throne of municipalities.

Experts say citizens coming from parliamentary political parties are sacrificing the top central power functions not to lose the race in local self-government for the 15 October elections.

Alliance for Albanians leader Zijadin Sela will compete to regain the Struga municipality.

His associate and then Health Minister Arben Taravari has formalised the nomination for mayor of Gostivar, writes TV21.tv.

The leader of the Besa Movement, MP Bilal Kassami to lead Tetovo municipality, will also be challenged with DPA deputy Bardhil Dautti, while the other deputy of the Besa Zeqiri Ibrahimi Movement for the Cair municipality will face Deputy Education Minister Visar Ganiu from the DUI.

For analyst Ismet Ramadani, political parties running with leaders, ministers, deputy ministers, or even their deputies show weakness that the quality of the framework is limited to important functions.

“On the other hand, it's like they're serving candidate citizens, who much less will affect interest at the local level. Those state policy candidates, who are placed in local function even further, will deal with high policy, and will suddenly forget the daily interests they have under local self-government”, said Ismet Ramadani, analyst.

From the LSDM, MP Petre Shilegov will compete to take the City of Skopje, while the VMRO DPMNE is said to be formally deputy Johan Tarculovski to run for the Kisela Vodka municipality.

Analyst Agim Jonuz says greed for power is inexhaustible by our citizens, who put personal interests before the future of the state.

THE “all state camera intended to be placed at the local level proves that they desperately want to keep power under control, which means power, and that the latter will open all doors to do business and money. The political elite in Macedonia has made terrible confusion between what is state interest, political interest, personal interest or what should be the interest of Macedonia's future”, said Agim Jonuz, analyst.

Experts predict that in the last four days of the official presentation of candidates from political parties, there will be new surprises.

If we do not run leaders, according to political analysts, by the end of the deadline on September 14th, even more parliamentary and deputy ministerial names will be found on the lists for the 15 October local election race. /21 Media
