EU Sets New Sanctions on Northern Korea

European foreign and defence officials will discuss Thursday the deployment of EU sanctions on North Korea, as this state declared it had tested a hydrogen bomb the largest test of a nuclear weapon tested over the weekend.
“Today we are facing a different level of threat that is undoubtedly a threat to global peace and security”, Chief of Foreign Policy Federica Moghrini told reporters ahead of a meeting of ministers in the Estonian capital of Talin.
“I would propose to ministers today to strengthen our economic pressure on North Korea”, she said.
While she refused to give details, meanwhile, a resolution drafted by the United States of America to replace other sanctions on North Korea and impose an oil embargo.
Drift, seen by news agency “The DPA” also calls for halting North Korean textile exports and employing North Korean workers abroad.
The proposal has reportedly been submitted to other Security Council members.
South Korea, Japan have been co-ordinated for new sanctions
At the same time, in Russia's eastern port of Vladivostok, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korea's President Moon Jae agreed to co-ordinate new sanctions against gyan more closely.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is hosting the forum, has rejected demands for further sanctions, rejecting Abe's claim that sanctions will provide a solution to the crisis.
Rather, ending sanctions would be a better incentive for the North to end its nuclear weapons programmes, he said./Periscopi/
